As far as we know, the new title that features all three games will be Hitman World of Assassination. Despite this, there will still be different versions of this game and DLCs that you can purchase. Here is a quote from the blog post IO Interactive gave explaining how this will work.

As of 26 January 2023, the following changes are planned to come into effect.

  • Hitman 3 will become ‘Hitman World of Assassination’, including access to Hitman 1 and Hitman 2 through our existing Access Pass system. Current Hitman 3 owners will get a free upgrade to Hitman World of Assassination on all platforms.
  • We’re drastically simplifying the purchase experience for new players. Hitman World of Assassination will be the single available option to start playing.

If this doesn’t explain much, don’t worry, you are not alone. Many fans are confused by this post, but it’s not all bad news, especially for people who already own Hitman 3.

Anyone who already owns Hitman 3 will get free access to Hitman 1 and 2 by January 26. If you don’t own any game in the series, your options will be to buy World of Assassination(starting price of $70) or World of Assassination Deluxe Pack DLC (for $30). What IO are trying to do is make the purchase of the series simpler, since there are currently six different versions that can be bought on Steam. And that doesn’t even include the 12 DLCs.

All in all, this is an interesting ploy, aiming to gather up all the Hitman games and DLCs into one single service. This could make it easier for them to launch further DLCs since everyone will have the same starting point. The downside is that Hitman 1 and 2 will not be up for purchase any longer, so if you own only one of them, you’re stuck with buying the entire World of Assassination edition. On top of that, not all the DLCs will be included with World of Assassination. You will have to pay $10 for the following: Hitman 3 Deluxe Pack, Hitman 2 Expansion Pack, and hitman 3 Seven Deadly Sins Collection.

So if you’re a fan of the series but haven’t purchased any of the new titles, your best bet is to get Hitman 3 right now and wait for the World of Assassination pack. Hitman 3 is available on most platforms, including Steam and the Playstation Store. World of Assassination will be out by the end of January 2023.
