New Half Life game possibly leaked by Gamescom’s mobile app

How many times have we been through this? Maybe this time around it’s going to be the real deal…

So, here we are. A brand new Half-Life rumour. This time around coming from Gamescom’s mobile application. A little background to this before we get into speculation town. Gamescom is a yearly video game fair that takes place in the summer. This year, the event will occur between August 23 – August 27 in Cologne, Germany. Video game publishers and developers alike gather at the largest gaming event in Europe to showcase their latest and greatest.

New Half-Life game is seen on Gamescom’s app

As seen in the screenshots above, Redditor ItzDarko42 had a pretty interesting little find, whereas, on Gamescom’s mobile app, Valve Corporation is registered under the Half-Life presentation name. So what does this mean? Well, it could signify a whole lot of things. One of which, is a console launch for Half-Life: Alyx, which would match PlayStation’s new PSVR2 release date earlier this year. It could also mean a new Half-Life VR game, but we’re just speculating now. Or it could simply be a mistake, or a viral marketing “mistake” if you catch my drift.

I highly doubt Valve would announce a new Half-Life game, like Half-Life 3 for example, via a video game convention or fair. It’s arguably the most anticipated video game in history, they wouldn’t need a platform like Gamescom to launch a new Half-Life game. That’s something for another day when you least expect it. You’ll wake up, open up your YouTube, and bam! There it is in your subscription box “Half-Life 3: Announcement Trailer”.

Now back to reality, virtual reality, Half-Life: Alyx is a fantastic video game, which is story-rich with some twists and turns you couldn’t anticipate. If you haven’t played HL: Alyx yet, you should definitely get a hold of a VR set and try it out while we wait for that trailer.
