Warzone 2 came out a while after Modern Warfare 2, bringing a few changes to the guns in the game. Here are some of the best guns you should try and focus on levelling them up to unlock powerful attachments that will give you the edge in a combat scenario.
RPK
- Barrel: KAS-10 584MM Barrel
- Muzzle: Kastovia DX90
- Underbarrel: FTAC Ripper 56
- Magazine: 40-Round Mag
- Rear Grip: True-Tac Grip
Even though LMGs are mostly underused in Warzone 2, the RPK is still a solid option. The fact that you can also play the DMZ game mode and easily find it on most AIs can help you level it up. The build we’ve shown will improve your damage range, bullet velocity, and recoil control. This will turn it into a decent gun for mid to long-range while also shredding people up close.
Kastov 762
- Barrel: IG-K30 406mm
- Muzzle: TY-LR8
- Underbarrel: FTAC Ripper 56
- Ammo: 7.62 High Velocity
- Optic: Cronen Mini Pro
Since the Kastov has 7.62 ammo, it hits pretty hard. This build will make it a decent close to a mid-range weapon, but you will struggle at longer ranges. You can try out different attachments to increase its range, the easiest method would be to add a 5x sight. The Kastov is an excellent starting weapon since you unlock it early on, and finding it should be no problem in most matches.
EBR-14
- Barrel: 22” Boremaster Barrel
- Muzzle: Husher-65 Silencer
- Optic: SZ Vortex-90
- Stock: FTAC Valor Stock
- Magazine: 20-Round Mag
If you like engaging from a distance, you should give the EBR-14 a try. It is very forgiving if you miss some shots, with good damage potential. The above build is excellent when starting you, but there are better options after you level up the gun more. Just make sure to emphasize damage range and bullet velocity to make the most out of long-range engagements.
Lachmann Sub (MP5)
- Muzzle: AVR-T90 Comp
- Laser: VLK LZR 7MW
- Underbarrel: Phase-3 Grip
- Magazine: 40-Roung Mag
- Stock: FT Mobile Stock
A classic SMG of the series, the Lachmann Sub is the perfect solution for CQB and indoor locations. It has an excellent TTK with a good balance of power and accuracy. Also, remember to equip it when running around since you get increased movement speed when wielding SMGs or pistols. While mostly useless for longer distances, having a short-range option is always helpful, especially when going into towns. The Lachmann Sub is a great weapon to add to your loadout drop, especially when starting out.
M4
- Muzzle: XTEN Havoc 90
- Barrel: Hightower 20″ Barrel
- Underbarrel: FTAC Ripper 56
- Ammunition: 5.56 High Velocity
- Optic: SZ Holotherm
We all know and love the M4, one of the most iconic Assault Rifles in the CoD series. It has an excellent rate of fire, even though the damage has been slightly nerfed compared to Warzone 1. Using the attachments we’ve shown gives you excellent control for close to mid-range encounters. You will still have decent accuracy for longer ranges, but the damage falloff will significantly hurt your TTK.
Signal 50
- Barrel: 29″ TV Kilo-50
- Underbarrel: FTAC Ripper 56
- Magazine: 7 Round Magazine
- Rear Grip: SA Finesse Grip
- Stock: FSS Echo Stock
On paper, the Signal 50 might look like a horrible sniper rifle. It has one of the lowest damage outputs out of all the high-caliber rifles and atrocious handling. But it more than makes up for that with an excellent fire rate, allowing you to quickly knock down enemies with a few good shots. The low recoil also helps with landing those follow-up shots. So for people who struggle to land that one kill headshot, the Signal 50 is a great option, at least until you improve your accuracy.
BAS-P
- Barrel: 12″ Bruen SZ-36
- Muzzle: XTEN RR-40
- Laser: 1MW Quick Fire Laser
- Rear Grip: D37 Grip
- Magazine: 50 Round Drum
One of the newest SMGs to be added to the game, the BAS-P can turn into quite the shredder at close range if you use our build. The extended magazine will give you enough ammo to quickly take down up to two enemies, even three if you’re a crack shot. Remember that you will lose a bit of movement speed with this particular build. But the potential damage output will more than make up for it.
Victus XMR
- Muzzle: Bruen Counter-Ops
- Barrel: Mack 8 33.5 Super
- Laser: VLK LZR 7MW
- Ammunition: .50 Cal High Velocity
- Rear Grip: Bruen Q900 Grip
The Victus XMR is another high-caliber sniper rifle, but this one emphasizes landing those much-needed headshots. It has one of the best damage outputs in the game regarding long-range shots, with an excellent 275 damage headshot. This will generally net you an instant down, even on fully armored targets. Our build only further increases the damage range and bullet velocity. If you feel capable of landing those headshots, the Victus XMR is an excellent weapon to level up.
Raal MG
- Muzzle: Cronen DM338
- Underbarrel: SA Side Grip
- Ammunition: .338 Mag High Velocity
- Magazine: 50 Round Belt Mag
- Optic: SZ Holotherm
If you feel you’ve outgrown the RPK or other LMGs, start leveling up the Raal MG. This gun is easily one of the best LMGs in the game, dealing 50 chest damage per bullet. This means that even a fully armored target will be downed in five well-placed shots. Despite all of this, there are also some downsides. Your movement speed will be lowered when wielding this gun, and the aiming speed is also not that great. But even when running it stock, it has excellent accuracy, and the iron sights are pretty decent.
STB 556
- Muzzle: Harbinger D20
- Barrel: 24.4″ Bruen S-620
- Underbarrel: FTAC Ripper 56
- Comb: Bruen TS-30 Comb
- Optic: SZ Holotherm
One of the best assault rifles in the game, the STB 556 has an excellent TTK, even at longer ranges. If you use our build, the gun will have almost no recoil, making it a killer at all ranges. While it lacks the stopping power of higher caliber weapons, the substantial chest damage will still allow you to get easy kills. So if you’re a fan of ARs and don’t know what to choose, the STB 556 is your best option, at least for now.
Choosing your ideal loadout is always somewhat confusing when starting, so we hope this list will give you some idea of what to pick. When starting, you should try to figure out your strengths and choose weapons accordingly. And remember that while some weapons might look bad at first, that might all change after adding some attachments. Experimentation is essential, so go out there and explore the Gunsmith’s myriad possibilities.
