Activision has just unveiled some details about the upcoming Season 3 of Modern Warfare 2.

Even though Warzone 2 has seen a lot of controversy in recent months due to a general lack of polish and plenty of misguided choices in game design, Activision is still chugging along with Season 3 for Modern Warfare 2. They’ve just shown a roadmap for this upcoming content patch, which includes guns, operators, and new game modes.

Guns and Operators

Players can get their hands on four new weapons, which include the FJX Imperium sniper rifle and the Cronen Squall assault rifle. Two new pistols will also be added later in the season, but no further information has been given. As far as operators go, Alejandro Vargas and Valeria Garza will be introduced to multiplayer. Both of them are fan favorites from the Modern Warfare 2 campaign. Players struggling to dominate in Warzone 2 can check out the best weapons in Warzone 2 worth leveling up.

New Game Modes

Three new game modes will be added to multiplayer: Cranked, Gunfight, and GW Infected. Cranked is a fast-paced mode that forces players to maintain a kill streak in order to reset a timer. Fail to do this, and your character will suffer the effects of spontaneous combustion. Gunfight also returns from the first Modern Warfare game, a tactical 2v2 mode set on small maps. GW Infected will come out later in the season and pit players against undead hordes on Ground War maps.

Further into the season, the Gunfight: OSP mode will also be added, which is pretty much Gunfight with a twist. The main difference is that players must scavenge for gear instead of getting a particular loadout at the start of every round.
