Fighting fans everywhere are excitedly waiting for Street Fighter 6 which will launch later this year.

Street Fighter has always been considered one of the kings of the fighting genre, with millions of fans worldwide. And with Street Fighter 6 right around the corner, Capcom has just released a showcase showing off some of the new features. It will also be a part of this year’s EVO lineup, allowing us to see pro players duke it out. So here are some of the newly announced features we’ll be able to enjoy soon enough.

Battle Hub

  • The Battle Hub will allow you to create your own custom characters and take on online opponents.
  • Street Fighter’s version of clans called clubs will also be returning, allowing you to customize your characters with special outfits and logos.

World Tour

  • Older games have also tried their hand at a more engaging single-player experience, and Street Fighter 6 is trying to bring that back with World Tour mode. You can create your own custom character and take part in a story mode, taking on unique characters from the Street Fighter universe.
  • Your character will be able to learn unique abilities from various fighters, allowing you to create your own customized moves list.
  • Along your path to glory during this story mode, you will be able to use certain moves to traverse levels faster. And bashing up cars and fridges is also back for people who missed this tongue-in-cheek aspect of the game.

Special Features

  • In order to add some visual realism, characters can get dirty or sweaty. Their clothes will also become increasingly damaged throughout a fight. This option can be turned off if you prefer the classic experience.
  • Audio pings can be turned on, giving you information like attack direction or the status of your special meter. This can help out beginners by giving them audio cues to improve their gameplay.
  • Dynamic mode is a great option for children, simplifying controls and making button mashing a valid tactic. This will only work in offline mode.
  • Combat tutorials are back, which will also explain the new Drive system.

Versus Modes

  • Team Battles are coming back, allowing you to set up matches with multiple fighters on your roster.
  • Extreme Battles are a new game mode that allow you to set your own customizable rulesets. This is reminiscent of Super Smash Brothers, allowing you to add a lot of silliness to fights.

Online Modes

  • Online lobbies are back, with up to 16 players joining simultaneously.
  • Each machine that sets up matches between players can also be customized, allowing players to create their own rulesets, similar to Extreme Battles.
  • Casual matches and Ranked matches are also present depending on how serious you are about your Street Fighter career.

The first demo for Street Fighter 6 has just been launched exclusively for PlayStation consoles. Other platforms will also be able to enjoy this demo starting on April 26. Street Fighter 6 will be fully released on June 2 for PlayStation, Xbox, and Microsoft Windows. Until then, check out more info about the game right here.
