The developers of Curse of the Dead Gods are again trying their hand at a roguelike in the shape of Ravenswatch.
The roguelike/roguelite genre is extremely popular nowadays, with countless games coming out each year. This is why the developers at Passtech Games are preparing to launch their second roguelike into Early Access. They are already known in the gaming world for their last title called Curse of the Dead Gods which was lauded for great gameplay and beautiful graphics. But it was also an extremely difficult game to get into which made plenty of players shy away from it.
This time around, they are trying different things out with Ravenswatch. The core gameplay leans more heavily into the action RPG side, with quests, loot, and upgrades galore at your disposal. You can play the game in single-player or co-op with up to four players.
As far as the story goes, Ravenswatch is set in a grim world where an evil force known as Nightmares has invaded the world of myth and legend. You will take control of various heroes of myth, such as Aladdin, Beowulf, or Snow White as you try to restore order in this forsaken world. The final game will have a total of ten characters to choose from, each with its own skills and preferred gear.
Ravenswatch will launch in Early Access for PC on April 6th, 2023. The full launch will take place sometime in 2024 on other platforms, including PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch.
