Even though Dead Island 2 has been in development for over ten years, it’s launch is right around the corner, and developers have just released a new gameplay trailer.
With a troubled development, at one point it looked like Dead Island 2 would never see the light of day. But the developers at Dambuster Studios are trying to assure fans that the game is mainly done by showing off a new gameplay trailer. Following in the steps of the first game, which had a pretty lackluster reception, Dead Island 2 promises to fix most of the first game’s issues while offering some fun and gory action.
The 15 minutes of gameplay offer a glimpse into the beautifully rendered world of Dead Island 2, which takes place in a zombie-infested Los Angeles. It shows one of the six characters you’ll get to play with, Dani, making her way through packs of zombies with various weapons. Fans of gory horror games will be excited to see the F.L.E.S.H. system at work. Dismemberment looks more realistic than ever, with lopped-off limbs affecting how enemies behave in combat. The trailer also shows off the new perk system and how sidequests are implemented. At one point, the player is offered a sidequest through an intercom, with an NPC asking for help.
Dead Island 2 will be coming out on April 21 and will be available for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
