The new Destiny 2 character went from non-binary to not-liked really fast.
What’s new in Destiny 2?
In Destiny 2: Lightfall, a new location has been introduced. Neomuna, a technologically superior human settlement that has been kept secret for generations, is located on the planet Neptune. The Cloudstriders, who guard Neomuna and join the Guardians in their struggle against the Cabal, reside there as well. Destiny 2: Beyond Lightfall was actually included in the free items for the PlayStation Pass in February.
Nimbus is one of the Cloud Striders Guardians that we come across. Nimbus is the classic newcomer that wants to impress the other Cloud Striders. He is young and arrogant. Moreover, Nimbus employs they/them pronouns and is non-binary, as you may have already seen. This is reflected in the aesthetic of Nimbus, who possesses androgynous features and lower armour in the corset style. Moreover, Bungie and Marin M. Miller, the voice for Nimbus, who sent a heartfelt statement on Twitter, have both verified it.
It is my honor to announce that I voice Nimbus in Destiny 2: Lightfall. I know the team pushed to have a non-binary actor in the role. Thank you for taking a chance on me. pic.twitter.com/ivHUlsXM6P

Nimbus is not, however, respected by everyone. As a result of several Reddit posts critiquing their speech, which some people have dubbed “Marvel cringe,” Nimbus has received mockery for being non-binary, some people have refused to use their pronouns, and the Destiny 2 forum admins have even had to lock a few threads.
Happily, not everyone was so rough on the new character and some people joined in its defence. What do you think about this? Maybe we should give Nimbus a chance.
