Bandai Namco has finally released a tidbit of info about an upcoming Elden Ring DLC.
From Software is a studio with a lot of history, but it was only with the launch of Demon’s Souls that they started their path to glory. They followed that up with the Dark Souls series, which cemented them as the masters of the Action RPG genre. Their last success was Elden Ring which came out in 2022. It won countless “Game of the Year” awards and sold over 20 million copies. Even for an AAA title, that number is enormous.
It was clear from the start that Elden Ring would get a DLC sooner or later. All From Software games have received at least one DLC, and given how successful Elden Ring has been, it was only a matter of time. To the excitement of their fans, publisher Bandai Namco finally tweeted the first concept art for the upcoming DLC, titled “Shadow of the Erdtree”. There’s not a lot of information from the single piece of concept art. We can see a very ominous-looking Erdtree in the distance, almost a husk of what an Erdtree should look like. Heading towards it is a lone rider, even though it’s unclear whether it’s a new or existing character. Many fans are speculating it might be Miquella.
This DLC has no precise launch date, but we can speculate a late 2023 or perhaps early 2024 launch. Elden Ring is available for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
