PUBG has made it a habit to restore their older maps with new features like secret rooms, revamped locations, and added roads for better navigation, plus much more. Erangel 3.0 is here with some surprising updates.

The new Erangel map update has hit the live servers today with the landing of the brand new Season 26 of PUBG. With this massive update, Erangel received some renovations on classic compounds and cities like Mylta, Stalber, Ruins, and Boat Yard (ex “Water Town”). Apart from these settlement rearrangements, PUBG also added quite a number of secret rooms on Erangel 3.0 spread throughout the battlegrounds, where you can find really good stuff to use against your enemies. Let’s dive deep and see what steps we need to take in order to get into these elusive Erangel secret rooms.
Erangel secret room locations
To be honest, these secret rooms are kind of hard to find, you know being so secret and all. They are barely distinguished on the zoomed-in Erangel map, having a very small rectangular shape. You could easily mistake them for a shack, PUBG did a great job of hiding those in plain sight. If you however find yourself upon a wooden door on the floor with a big red X on it, then that’s your destination alright! Check out these screenshots bellow to make a good idea on how these look and are laid out on the map.
- Before getting here, you will need to find the secret room key, called the “Secret Basement Key” which looks like a normal set of keys, without this key, you will not be able to get in. This item can be found randomly, spawned across the new Erangel map, just like you would find a secret key card on Vikendi Reborn.
- After getting the Secret Basement Key, go the the closest secret room by using the guide map provided above. Make sure to have a weapon on you so you can shoot the wooden door on the floor with the red X on it.
- Once you’ve shot open the wooden planks, just open the basement door, and voila! Treat yourself to a level 3 helmet and armor (sometimes), lots of throwables including blue zone grenades, Molotov cocktails, frags, and so on, as well as normal ARs, DMRs, and SRs, and if you’re lucky enough you can even find create-level weaponry such as the MK14, Groza, AWM, and the rest.
So there you have it folks! The new Erangel map update is a great addition to the PUBG universe with subtle yet important changes, that in my opinion will make any nostalgic PUBG fan proud of the new and improved areas. This update reminds us of the recent Miramar update, which was also light in terms of its scale, compared to the Vikendi Reborn update which was a total overhaul of the classic PUBG winter map.
