It seems like Google is tapping into the foldable smartphone market with their newly announced Pixel Fold, the first foldable smartphone engineered by the search engine giant
With the caption “May the Fold be with you” earlier on social media (a reference to the international Star Wars day, “May the 4th”), Google announced their newest product, the Pixel Fold. A compact, foldable smartphone that’s aimed directly at Samsung’s foldable phones (Galaxy Z Fold 4, Galaxy Z Flip 4), Microsoft’s Surface Duo 2, and other less-known foldable phones on the market like the Oppo Find N.
They didn’t unveil too much with this announcement on their official website, except for the marketing video displayed above. If you are interested in finding out more related to the Google Pixel Fold, make sure to check out their Google I/O live-streamed keynotes on May 10th, where they will most definitely get into the nitty-gritty of the newly announced foldable smartphone plus probably many other products and services.
It will be interesting to see how this foldable phone will affect the mobile gamers and if the Pixel Fold will be one of the best gaming phones on the market, only time will tell.
An interesting reference article is my latest keyword research study where I researched 500 phones launched last year to determine which was the most searched-for and the best smartphone in 2022. Results were surprising as Google’s Pixel models could only be found at #16 and beyond. Better luck this year with the Pixel Fold perhaps?
