Horizon Call of the Mountain, Sony’s feature virtual reality game for the PSVR2 is landing next month, together with the PSVR2 launch. You can now explore the Horizon world in a more immersive experience.
What new things will the game have to offer?
As a feature game for the upcoming PSVR2, the game will be released with quite some new things:
- Stunning graphics – Horizon Call of the Mountain will be played with 4k HDR quality and amazing resolution that can be enjoyed with great focus.
- Haptic feedback – You can enjoy an immersive experience with subtle and responsive haptic feedback, both on the headset and the controllers.
- High-quality sound – The Tempest 3D Audio Tech lets you enjoy an enhanced audio experience of the surroundings, which adapts dynamically to your location.
- Finger detection – Feel free to interact with everything around you in a realistic way, as your fingers are detected even when you are not pressing any button.
Story and Gameplay for the next Horizon game
This time, the story will not focus on our beloved Aloy. Horizon Call of the Mountain lets us see the world through Ryas’ eyes. The former Shadow Carja warrior is looking to find redemption for his past actions, uncovering the secrets of the mountain. Together with the game’s story, we all expect Aloy to make an appearance sooner or later, even if this is not officially confirmed. I think we all hope to see her and maybe complete some missions together because let’s be honest, she is the heart of the Horizon universe.
As for the gameplay, we can see various activities in the trailers and teasers. Climbing on the mountains, crafting, hunting and obviously shooting arrows are some of the main activities in the Horizon world, which now we can enjoy in virtual reality.
The is also a special section called The River Ride, which is a showcase for the PSVR2 features. This will be an immersive experience created to explore and see what the new PS5 accessory has to offer.
Horizon Call of the Mountain is also being developed by Firesprite
Together with Guerilla, Firesprite is also contributing to the game’s development, being a virtual reality game. This is supposedly happening because they have quite the experience with Playstation games, and surely more knowledge regarding the PSVR2 technology.
When will Horizon Call of the Mountain be released?
The game is already available to pre-order on the official PlayStation site and the release date for the VR game is 22nd February, as announced at The Game Awards. Horizon Call of the Mountain is one of the most expected PS5 games coming in 2023.
