After more than seven months since the launch of the iPhone 14, Apple is preparing for the launch of its next mode.
Apple has been churning out a new iPhone model every year, and this year will be no different. Here are some of the features of this new smartphone.
Design
From the rumors that are already out, all four models of the iPhone 15 will have curved edges, returning to the iPhone 11 style. Bezels will be thinner than ever, with the iPhone 15 Pro Max coming in at a 1.55mm bezel. The iPhone 15 and 15 Plus will also get a new camera bump. While there is no official statement regarding this, unofficial renders point to this being true.
On the design front the iPhone 15 Pro will also get solid-state volume and power buttons. Some rumors talked about these buttons using vibrations to give you a tactile feel, but industry experts quickly dismantled those rumors. The less expensive models will also be getting the Dynamic Island feature which is excellent news for people who don’t want to spend an arm and a leg on a phone.
Camera
Pro models will be equipped with periscope cameras that will improve the quality of telephoto zoom mode. Certain sources also mention Apple’s new Sony sensor that can capture more light than most other sensors. This could mean it will be quite difficult to overexpose or underexpose your photos. Also, all four models of the iPhone 15 could come equipped with a 48MP camera, which is a great upgrade for the cheaper variants.
Specifications
Some things are almost certain when it comes to specifications. Most variants of the iPhone 15 will come equipped with the A17 Bionic chip. Made on a 3nm architecture, the A17 promises better efficiency, improving battery life greatly. It also boasts up to 20% faster speeds compared to the A16. Sadly, if Apple continues the pattern that older models have followed, the standard iPhone 15 will still use the A16. This is just a guess though since the standard iPhone 14 also used the older A15 chip.
While we’re on the subject of chipsets, Qualcomm will apparently be providing the 5G modem once again, in the form of the Snapdragon X70. The Pro models might also be compatible with Wi-Fi 6E, but this hasn’t been confirmed yet. If you’re worried about running a lot of apps at the same time, the iPhone 15 will finally make the leap to 8GB of RAM. And last but not least, the new iPhone model will probably make the switch to USB-C. Goodbye Lightning, and good riddance, I say.
So there it is; some fresh information about the iPhone 15 straight from the rumor mill. Obviously, some information might prove to be just that, a rumor. We’ll have to wait for Apple to offer its own input before the official announcement. The iPhone 15 is slated for a September launch this year.
