After many years of waiting to see more of the next installment in the popular RPG series, Nintendo has finally released a gameplay trailer that shows us some of the new tricks up Link’s sleeve.
Legend of Zelda as a series needs no introduction since it is one of the most popular RPG series in gaming history. After countless games over a period of more than 20 years, the series has always focused on unique and intuitive gameplay, all of it wrapped in a cute art style. And this upcoming game is no different, with much improved graphics that will bring the land of Hyrule to your TV screens as you’ve never seen it before.
Alongside the shiny new graphics, this gameplay trailer gives us a sneak peek at some new gameplay features you can play around with. Link has more control over his arsenal and his surroundings than ever before. With two clicks of a button, you can easily attach two items from the environment to create a new weapon. This mechanic also works for arrows. Simply attach an item from your inventory to a basic wooden arrow and it will receive various effects and bonuses.
And when it comes to interacting with the world around you, Tears of the Kingdom gives you immense freedom. The trailer shows how you can glue various objects together in order to create ad-hoc vehicles. Need to cross a lake? Just slap some wood together and attach a rotor and you’ll be sailing in no time. All of this looks simply amazing and we can’t wait to experiment with all of these new systems.
Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will be coming out exclusively for the Nintendo Switch on May 12, 2023.
