Minecraft continuously keeps pumping out more content, with some DLCs bringing in elements from other games.
Mojang Studios, which Microsoft owns, have just announced that they’re doing a crossover together with Sega. The result of this crossover is a new Minecraft DLC that will bring Sonic and other series characters into Minecraft. The trend of Minecraft texture packs started out a few years ago, with plenty of community packs that let you turn your character into your favorite superhero or pretty much anything you can imagine. Mojang picked up on how successful these texture packs were and started co-opting other companies in creating their own legitimate crossovers.
When directly compared to their Dungeons and Dragons and Mega Man X DLCs, this Sonic crossover won’t come packed with a story mode. You can only use this texture pack when playing the Survival or Creative game modes. If you’ve ever dreamed of running around a Minecraft world that looks like one of the iconic Sonic levels, this DLC has got you covered. And alongside environments, mobs and bosses will also have new models that will turn them into one of Dr. Eggman’s creations. Even Dr. Eggman will make an appearance as a boss according to the creators.
The Sonic DLC for Minecraft is already out, and you can pick it up for 990 Minecraft coins, which equate to around $6. If you’re a big-time fan of the Sonic franchise, this is the perfect moment to boot up Minecraft again. And don’t forget, you gotta go fast.
