Activision has just announced a new pack of operator skins that borrow characters from other IPs.
After the ridiculous addition of a Nicki Minaj operator skin to Modern Warfare 2, Activision is preparing to launch some new crossover skins. And no, Nicki’s skin isn’t even wearing a military outfit, instead going for the tactical camouflage of bright pink leather. I can’t emphasize enough how ridiculous that skin looks. And while other games like Fortnite have fully embraced the addition of weird skins to their game, at least they have a cartoony style going. CoD on the other hand tries to be a bit more “realistic”, and seeing Nicki Minaj running around in pink leather gunning people down is simply ridiculous.
In a recent tweet, Activision has revealed some Halloween content, including game modes and some new operator skins. This bundle will come out on September 27 and include a Doom bundle that comes packed with a chainsaw. Another IP they’re borrowing heavily from is Spawn. The game will be getting multiple Spawn skins as well as a Creepy Clown and Violator skin. Even though this is still a weird addition, at least they’re from a more mature IP.
And since Blizzard needs to get some of their characters in the action of CoD, Lilith and Inarius will also be available for purchase. Other Halloween-themed skins are Skeletor from He-Man (to the joy of 80s kids I guess), Ash from the Evil Dead, and Alucard from the Hellsing series. With Modern Warfare 3 dropping on November 10, these new additions to the game should keep players interested until they can get their hands on it.
