The recent Geforce Beyond stream brought to the table something GPU enthusiasts were kind of expecting but in a form of a TI version, the brand new RTX 4070 TI.
The brand-new 4070 TI is the third graphics card to be announced by Nvidia in the 4000 series. The RTX 4090 being the first one, followed by Nvidia’s RTX 4080.

This is what Nvidia states on their website, meaning that the RTX 4070 TI is an absolute beast of a graphics card for gamers. For its price and alleged performance, it really is the perfect sweet spot in the GPU marketing today.
RTX 4070 TI price
The RTX 4070 TI is listed on for a $799 price, MSRP, which is not 100% accurate of the shelve prices we’re about to see after its launch in stores and online. We may be looking at a $1,000 for this card as the RTX 4080 is well over the $1k value.
RTX 4070 TI release date
The TI version of 4070 is going to be available in select stores starting the 5th of January, so a few days away! Let’s just hope will be sufficient for anyone interested in a mid-high GPU.
Who does the RTX 4070 TI compete against?
Well, with the new AMD RDNA 3 graphics cards, the RX 7900 XT and RX 7900 XTX, the RTX 4070 TI seems to fall in between these cards, as the RTX 4080 is definitely better than RX 7900 XTX.
It’s worth noting that even if AMD cards are similar in performance to Nvidia GPUs, the green team wins a lot in the post-processing department with their latest DLSS 3 supersampling technology. Raytracing is also clearly a better performer on Nvidia 4000 series compared to AMD’s RNDA 3 series.
RTX 4070 TI performance
Nvidia states in their latest CES 2023 presentation, that RTX 4070 TI is a great graphics card for 2k resolution singleplayer gaming (1440p), at over 120 frames per second in modern games like A Plague Tale: Requiem, Warhammer 40k: Darktide, F1 2022, and Spider-Man: Miles Morales, all while utilizing the DLSS 3 technology who delivers 1.8X performance.
While these are some pretty hefty titles, it’s curious to see how well this GPU perform in non-DLSS3 competitive multiplayer games, where supersampling is a disadvantage due to the increased input latency.

With a little over 2,000 CUDA cores compared to the RTX 4080, 4GB less memory, and a boost clock speed surprisingly higher, the 4070 TI is a beast and a great addition to the Nvidia 4000 series.
