Exilecon is the yearly event where the Path of Exile developers talk about upcoming seasons for the game, and this time they’ve also given us some new information about the upcoming sequel.
Path of Exile is still one of the most successful ARPGs ever, and it looks like the developers over at Grinding Gear Games aren’t done yet. Besides announcing a new expansion for Path of Exile 1 that will bring a ton of new changes, they’ve given a lot of new information about Path of Exile 2 as well. Unlike what they said earlier, it won’t simply be an expansion of PoE 1. Instead, it will be its own game with new classes, content and endgame mechanics.
New Classes
Six new classes have been announced for Path of Exile 2, alongside the original ones in PoE 1. Here are the currently announced new ones:
- Strength/Intelligence – Druid and Templar
- Dexterity – Huntress and Ranger
- Dexterity/Intelligence – Monk and Shadow
While we didn’t get a good look at all of them, some Monk gameplay was shown. The Monk is a melee class that emphasizes mobility. Even though all classes now have access to a dodge roll, the Monk’s skills allow him to quickly maneuver in a fight and always be in the right spot at the right time. Each class will also have three ascendancies this time around, for a total of 36. These will give the game a ton of replayability and plenty of freedom to find your ideal build.
The game will also bring plenty of combat and gameplay changes, with everything looking amazing. Each hit you deal to a pack of enemies feels impactful and we can’t wait to see how this new story path pans out.
