Will a PVE coop game mode work for PUBG? Only time will tell.
PUBG just posted a teaser trailer for an upcoming game mode. The trailer consists of an image of four players battling what appears to be zombies. The image gives a lot of Left4Dead vibes, with several different zombie classes in the background. Alongside the artwork image, the trailer also has a song that reminds me of the original The Last of Us game. For context, PUBG also added some cryptic text over the image, explaining the story behind it.
It seems like this brand-new game mode will take place on the smallest PUBG map, Haven, which is exactly 1×1 KM in size. The text also explains how only four survivors remain (a full squad) after the “monstrous aftermath of Tythonic’s Blue Chip”. This surely sounds like a 4-player coop-style survivor mode, in which you have to stay alive for as much as possible, with hoards of zombies coming in hot in waves. The mode will also feature (as per the text below) crafting and healing items will be replaced by food.
It will be a great addition to PUBG, and hopefully, a game mode that’s here to stay and not just be available for this year’s Halloween season.
