Rockstar is one of the biggest studios in the gaming world, which can often lead to the rumor mill working constantly to unravel any news about their upcoming titles.
After the success of Red Dead Redemption 2, it kind of makes sense that Rockstar would be looking to the future of the series. While their “remaster” of the first game was met with a few raised eyebrows, rumors have been spreading that Rockstar is currently beginning work on Red Dead Redemption 3. If you want to know more about the problem with those ports you can do so here. This would make sense since Grand Theft Auto 6 is nearing the end of its almost 10-year development, which apparently cost almost $2 billion.
These new rumors came from a Twitter user who has been proven correct in the past as well, even though he usually dabbles in TV and Movie rumors. If we are to think these rumors are correct, Red Dead Redemption 3 could be a prequel to the second game, giving us a look at the Van Der Linde Gang in their earlier days of crime. Since RDR2 itself was a prequel to the first game, this kind of makes sense. And it could naturally lead up to the events that unfold at the start of Red Dead Redemption 2, which find the gang in dire straits after a failed bank robbery.

Red Dead Redemption 3 will probably take quite a while to complete since the second game in the series took almost eight years. So it might be at least six or seven years before we actually get to see this game launch.
