Playstation 5 Pro hints from Sony VP – Hideaki Nishino

I think we already assume that 2023 will be a huge year for Sony and for the PlayStation 5 since its release. This was subtly hinted at by Hideaki Nishino, Sony’s Vice President while having a chat with Famitsu. However, he strongly kept his position of not giving any more details at the time the interview took place.

In his exact words, “We believe that cumulative sales will exceed 37 million units by the end of fiscal 2022 and that it will be a very important time for the platform as well” and “I won’t be able to talk about specifics at this time, but I hope that you will look forward to next year (2023)”

When will the Playstation 5 Pro be released?

Unfortunately, the is no official release date, but it is strongly believed that the new PS5 Slim and Pro will be released in mid-2023, given that Sony introduced the PlayStation 4 Pro three years after releasing the PlayStation 4.

What upgrades will the console get?

At the moment, there is a rumour that the PlayStation 5 Pro will feature a suite of AMD Zen 4 CPUs and RDNA-3 GPUs.

In addition, regarding the disc and digital versions, because of the criticism previously received, Sony will launch only one version for each type(Slim and Pro) with an extra USB Type-C port placed at the back of the console where a detachable disk drive can be connected.

The DualSense Edge is already here!

Sony’s update to the DualSense controller has been released and it looks and feels amazing. This version was most likely designed for professional players. It comes with a few brand-new additional features for increased accessibility.

It was also designed to make it easier to customize the controller and reach the exact playstyle and preferences you opt for.

The new pad has an adjustable trigger length, switchable stick caps, and increased versatility for the back buttons. It also features customizable controller profiles, preset profiles for stick sensitivity and some extra function buttons.

We can’t wait to see what upgrades will 2023 bring to the PlayStation 5, now that we have the amazing DualSense Edge controller.
