Our spider-sense is tingling!

The wait is over! Sony just revealed fresh details regarding Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 at its PlayStation Showcase. Kraven the Hunter, the game’s antagonist, will be the main villain in this title. The fresh gameplay footage showed Peter Parker using new abilities while wearing a symbiote outfit. To put it simply, he appears to be a lot dimmer than in the first game, especially when making his entrance and scaring Miles Moreles. If you wanna see for yourself, take a seat and enjoy the video:

The trailer shows us how we will alternate between Peter and Miles Morales. The latter also has some new skills, such as the ability to glide and the Web Grabber, which pulls enemies together in an isolated area. Then, continuing with the list of villains, we have the Lizard, another powerful antagonist, who also makes a strong appearance. This means the heroes will once again face multiple hazards and will have a rough time. But hey, that’s the superhero life, right?

Regarding the gameplay area, it appears like the game’s map will be larger than ever before. The first game’s territory was primarily Manhattan, but this preview includes Queens and on top of that a significant amount of the pursuit scenario was conducted on the ocean. We can’t wait to see how this one builds on the impressive and expansive depiction of New York City that the first Spider-Man already created.

The game will benefit from a richer world, from being filled with details and particles to greatly improved textures and lighting. The haptics are also improved on the DualSense for a greater immersive experience.

When Spider-Man 2 was first announced in September 2021, it was revealed that Venom would make an appearance in the game and that Peter Parker and Miles Morales would return. The game will only be available on the PS5, but considering Sony’s recent history of successful PC conversions, we might see it eventually make its way to PC. Hopefully, it won’t have a rocky launch like The Last of Us did (if you’re up for a good laugh, check out The Last of Us Part 1 PC bugs).

What is the release date for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2?

Despite the fact that there is still no set release date, we will get the opportunity to play the game this fall, as promised by the devs. It was said by Insomniac Games that they wanted to announce a definite date pretty soon.
